How to Vote
You’ll be electing a mayor, six councillors, and three school trustees, all for four-year terms. That means you can vote for up to six council candidates — and I’m asking to be one of those votes.

- Wednesday, October 7, 2026 – from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, October 10, 2026 – from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 13, 2026 – from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 14, 2026 – from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, October 15, 2026 – from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Vote by Mail
Registration for a mail ballot is open from August 31 to October 1, 2026 at 11:59pm. Completed ballots must be received by 8:00 pm on October 17, 2026 to be counted.

Can I Vote?
You can vote as a resident elector if you are a Canadian citizen, 18 or older on voting day, a resident of the City of North Vancouver, and have lived in B.C. for at least six months.
You can vote as a non-resident property elector if you own property in the City but live elsewhere in B.C. Additional conditions apply — check with the City.
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) members living on Eslha7án̓ (Ustlawn) Mission 1 Reserve are eligible to vote in the City’s election.
Permanent residents who are not yet Canadian citizens cannot vote in B.C. local elections. If that’s you, this is one more reason the City needs to hear from you between elections — and I’d still like to.
Do I Need to Register First?
No. The advance registration deadline through Elections BC has passed, but you can register at the voting place when you go to vote. Bring identification.
If you’re 16 or 17, you can pre-register with Elections BC now so you’re on the list when you turn 18.
Two Minutes, Once Every Four Years
Turnout in the City’s last election was under 23%.
Council decides what your property taxes fund, where housing gets built, what your neighbourhood looks like in ten years, and whether there’s a childcare space near your home. The people to make those decisions get made by whoever shows up to vote
Please vote on October 17 — whoever you vote for, our City only benefits when you make a choice with your ballot.
