Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Continue incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of City governance
  • Support the expansion of policy development to ensure that the voices and needs of all City residents are heard and fully represented in all services provided by the City.
Why is this important?

Our City is diverse and represents a wide spectrum of residents from all walks of life. Approximately 38% of our City residents are immigrants from over 100 countries and nearly one out of three residents identity themselves as a visible minority. There are approximately 1,650 Indigenous people living in the City, with approximately 7% of our residents having only recently immigrated to Canada.

We need to continue to proactively engage the community to hear their concerns and identify City services where equity, diversity and inclusion could be improved.
